This track has been kicking around my iPod for a while now so it was somewhat of a surprise when I heard it a few times this week on the radio. It was released back in June, evident with its Summery feel and upbeat dancey lyrics. The root of its sudden popularity lies in a BBC One advert that uses it, something that can be classed as the John Lewis and Apple effect surely?
Anyway it’s a really neat track from Martin Solveig who has a fairly sizable discography. Boys & Girls enjoyed a bout of popularity in 2009 and he’s well worth listening to. The French DJ has an interesting history, growing up as a church chorister, a la Katy Perry. Here’s the video:
That’s a pretty great video, right? Suitably Summery: tennis: check, sunshine: check and its relative intelligence reminds me of Hotchip’s debut single video from their latest album. And here’s Boys & Girls:
Both undeniably upbeat, they’ll cheer any rainy/gloomy/overcast walk from the bus-stop up. Promise.
