LIVE : Disclosure @ Red Bull Studios

Mid set, going laaaaarge

Mid set, going laaaaarge

I write to you all from crutches, as I nurse my legs back to health from hours of dancing my little heart out to Disclosure and guests this Friday night, all powered through by Red Bull.

So as I said the other day in my pre gig post ( you can see all the details here http://canyouhearthis.co.uk/2013/03/07/live-disclosure-hosted-by-red-bull-great-suffolk-street-warehouse/) I headed over to Great Suffolk Street the other night for a night of promised fun, all thanks to Red Bull and Disclosure. The venue, Great Suffolk Street Warehouse, was the perfect venue for it all. Walking in it was a huge place, a bit chilly but perfect once you were moving it to the beats playing well into the morning. And what beats they all were.

I attended with my girlfriend (from whom I’ve earned 100000 brownie points by taking her ) and we turned up at about 11, and were immediately greeted by a great guy from John Doe PR, who very kindly bought us both a new drink from the new Red Bull line. I tried a Vodka Silver Red Bull, which was amazing, and my girlfriend went for the Cranberry mixer, and both tasted so good, and powered us through the night. I may have then had another 5 to really test out the flavours, as the model of product testing…

Disclosure came on at 1.15, and they were absolutely mindblowing. Their set was immense from start to finish, getting absolutely every moving. Classics such as White Noise and Boiling were of course warmly greeted, along with some new stuff that went down a treat with all involved. The encore, with a cameo from the ever talented Sam Smith, was absolutely perfect. Latch live in that sort of environment has to go down as one of the best musical moments of my life, the entire crowd was totally behind them and so into it all, it was a dream to be a part of.

Later on, amazingly guest Skream came on to do a back to back set with Disclosure, that again just blew everyone away .I have never seen a set of people party harder, and party happier than at this gig, and I can’t help but think that a lot of that came down to the night’s drinks, and of course the performers. The new Red Bull Editions in all three flavours vitalised body and mind, giving everyone that edge to just keep on going ( I staggered home into bed at 5:30, ask anyone at uni and that’s unheard of for boring me) and of course, we can’t take anything away from the incredible sets performed that night. Get your tickets to any Skream or Disclosure gig ASAP, and do it with some #RedBullEditions in your system. I’m going to go and sleep for a week and recover now.
