7 amazing YouTube reactions to Lana Del Rey’s Gatsby song, Young and Beautiful

Lana Del Rey’s Young and Beautiful was released last week. It’s for the Gatsby soundtrack and it’s properly lovely; an exercise in classy pop and earthly transience. Sorry, got carried away there. Speaking of getting carried away. Some of the YouTube comments under the song are hilarious. I knew she was popular but there are some great ones here, guys. Let’s take a look at 7 of the best and I promise not to divulge my love of 9/11 conspiracies. The Smurfs did it, though.

1) The person who crowned LDR ‘The Queen of Our Galaxy.’

I didn’t know this was an official position but it’s in capitals so it must be.

2) The kid who loves capslock and HISTORY.

But curiously not full-stops. This is my favourite because it’s so bold, but also so specifically restrained. It’s not the BEST SONG EVER CREATED IN HISTORY, but MODERN history. So when did MODERN history start? When Call Me Maybe was released? When Michael Jackson died? ANSWERS. I need answers.

3) The dude who got awfully Big Brother about things.

Screen Shot 2013-04-25 at 19.21.51 3Jeez, who made you the Thought Police?

4) The Hollywood Insider

5) Another person absolutely sure that May 11th will be LDR’s coronation.

Screen Shot 2013-04-25 at 19.22.15Er, has anyone told Kate Middleton about this?

6) The high-priest who knows Lana’s true identity.

Popstar? Pop-stylist? Singer? Nope, nope and nope! Lana is actually the goddess of beautiful artistic songwriting and singing. Though, curiously Lana the Deity is not given the eternal honour of capital letters.

7) The fan who has CONCERNS about Lana’s metamorphosing abilities.

If she even THINKS about shape-shifting, I’m gunna love her so hard that she drops dead.

For reals though, the song is great:
