As I mentioned the other day, Sophie Delila very kindly invited me down to see her absolutely kill it at the St Pancras Old Church, read on for details of her generally being wicked.
You know who Sophie is by now (because I featured her earlier this week) so I’m just going to get on with letting you all know how great she was.
Really great, is the answer. I came in knowing that I was dying to hear Bound to Fall, but I didn’t expect such a great array of tracks that were new to me, but also some classics which so covered. A personal favourite was her cover of Diamonds, which was absolutely top and you should definitely give a listen to.
Some stuff off her new album was amazing, and I will link that all up as soon as we get word of it all. A last rendition of World, Hold On, by Bob Sinclair was a wonderful ending to it all. My girlfriend described Sophie as “utterly endearing” and that she was. Charming from start to end, the modest setting of the Church was the perfect setting for an intimate gig which really was all about the music.
